Another Year Has Gome and Gone....

The year 2011 has come and gone…….

During the past decade the world has seen many crises. 9/11, the tsunami’s in Japan and Thailand, the economic crisis which originated in Iceland in 2008……

Yet the world bounces back every time, and through its ability to change it continues to create a new future and new opportunities for mankind.

As an organization with its feet planted firmly on the ground, Stars in their Eyes has (already for a number of years) seen change as THE catalyst for future success .

We have come to understand that you don’t have to be a specialist advisor in order to bring about change, nor do you need to be in a management position.

You just have to want to make a difference…..

Making a difference can start with the simplest of actions - asking why or what?

We are continuously challenging the status quo at many levels by asking questions which start with ‘why’ or ‘what’?

‘Why should we just accept crime and violence?’

And

‘What can we do to improve our communities?’

As a result of our inquisitive nature and creative approach we have been able to continue training people, connecting with other projects and cooperating with local authorities all over South Africa.

During 2011 we have trained a further 150 community coaches.

We have started up the ‘Women taking the Lead’ and ‘New Beginnings’ courses.

We have formed a close working relationship with musician Larry Joe. Supported by the Royal Netherlands Embassy in South Africa, the Royal Dutch Football Association and the South African Embassy in The Hague, we have brought him to the Netherlands for a wonderful tour.

Our Stars in Eyes has indeed performed wonderfully since its inception. We have trained more than 450 communities coaches in bringing positive change to more than 175 disadvantaged and impoverished communities. On a weekly basis, we are reaching more than 10 000 children in Africa.

We have adapted to change, and have come out stronger.

Change indeed does not come easy, but it does come with great rewards!

That being said, the one thing which we will not change concerns our traditional values.

Hard work, integrity, loyalty, having fun as a team and last but not least….

Being there for our fellowman.

Wishing all our coaches, supporters,

partners, sponsors and communities

a blessed festive season, and a dynamic,

successful and very happy 2012!
